The Way of the Future - Online Pharmacy
What kind of shopper are you? Are you a digital native, who looks to do everything online, or are you the person who still likes to get outside and browse a physical shop? Me, well, I like both! But it turns out, I am in the minority. 63% of people say they prefer to shop online, a figure that has almost doubled since COVID reared its ugly head. It is estimated that 2.14 billion people shop online and by 2024, sales are expected to exceed 6.4 trillion USD.
As much as I do like the traditional approach, I have to say that shopping online does have a lot of attractive perks. And shopping for medicines online? I can give you plenty of reasons why it’s a strong life choice.
  • Affordable

In my physical pharmacies, there are a whole lot of overheads which keep prices higher than they need to be. A pharmacy is almost always located in a village centre, and this means rent can be pretty hefty. I have to pay to keep the shop looking beautiful and welcoming. I need to pay for regular deliveries because the pharmacy itself isn’t big enough to house it all at once. You can imagine this all adds up. And physical pharmacies have to recoup this loss somewhere. Ultimately, it comes from your pocket. Now contrast this with an online pharmacy. I can rent a warehouse in an industrial area for much less rent than a shopfront. That saving is passed on to you. I can order stock en masse so that I save money on delivery fees. That saving is passed on to you. The warehouse just needs to be neat and ordered, it doesn’t need a facelift every few years. That saving is passed on to you. No matter how you look at it, an online pharmacy is simply cheaper to run, and it is therefore more affordable for the consumer.

  • Never out of stock

Consider the depth of an average shelf. There isn’t a great deal of space for excess stock, and often if a pharmacy runs out, you’re out of luck. You will have to drive to the next suburb over. The convenient thing about an online pharmacy is that we have giant cavernous warehouses so it’s almost impossible for us to run out of stock. If you want aloe vera gel, we will have it, and it will be on its way to your house later that day. Save yourself the heartbreak and go online.

  • Convenient

This will probably not come as a surprise to you, but working hours have skyrocketed even in the last 15 years. I feel it. One of the biggest stress points in my life is if I ever need to go to the bank or get my car serviced, I often look at my calendar and wonder where I am going to carve out a few spare hours. So when it comes to things like ducking out to the shops for a specialty item, it makes my day much more complex and stressful. Shopping for your medicines online alleviates all of this stress. You can do it during your lunch break without even getting up. You could do it while taking a power walk around the block. You could even do it in the bathroom, I am not here to judge! Regardless, you can be sure that that little package is going to show up on your doorstep in just a couple of days and it didn’t eat up any of your precious time. Now, you could consider the following with the 30 minutes you just saved:

  • Walking your dog
  • Practicing a neglected hobby
  • Playing with your kids
  • Attempting to cook a souffle that doesn’t go flat (I have never managed this)

Whatever it is, you can do it safe in the knowledge that you are spending your time your way; not hung up on chores or errands.

  • Safety first

The reality is, people can transmit sickness even if they are asymptomatic. And when you have a concentration of people who are sick all descending on one place, your chances of picking up something unpleasant are greatly increased. This was actually always a factor, even before COVID. It has just arrived at the forefront of everyone’s mind now. With the Omicron strain working outwards from the epicentre in South Africa and Botswana, it may well be that we are not out of the woods yet. Masks, and QR check-ins, (possibly even lockdowns) are not going anywhere. To be on the safe side, you can order all of your medicines online so that you don’t need to come into contact with people who may have something you don’t want to pick up.

Shopping for medicines online is a good life choice in so many ways; safety, depth of stock, convenience, affordability. Shop our wide range today to see how you could be living a better, healthier life!

PS: I have included a little list here of things to do to minimise your risk of spreading COVID. I hope it gives you some sense of control in a world which seems unpredictable and frightening.

  1. Wash your hands with soap regularly for 20 seconds. Hand sanitizer does an equally good job, and so it is worth carrying this with you at all times.
  2. Stay at home where possible – Maybe you could get your groceries and medicines online?
  3. Wear a mask – The science is pretty definitive here. A mask keeps other people safe from you. If everyone wears a mask, we are all much safer.
  4. Stay physically distant where possible – Depending on government regulations, these regulations might be pulled back (although the possible spread of the Omicron variant might have something to say). Either way, you can opt so distance yourself where possible.
  5. Avoid touching your mouth and nose with your hands – Your hands touch all kinds of surfaces which might have been touched by someone sick. Rubbing them against your face isn’t a good idea.
  6. Clean and disinfect surfaces that are commonly touched – You can kill the germs that lie in wait in communal areas and reduce your risk of contracting or transferring the virus
  7. Get vaccinated – Again, viral epidemiologist and virologists have demonstrated the efficacy of vaccines in quelling the spread of the virus.
